VNU launches Computeractive under license in Ukraine
VNU Business Media Europe's licensing and syndication division, Global Publishing Partnerships (VNU GPP), is launching Computeractive in Ukraine in November 2006. The magazine is published under license through "Ukrainian Media Holding" group in Kiev, the leading Ukrainian consumer publisher and an international multimedia company.
Ian Bedwell, CEO of VNU GPP, said: "We have been careful in choosing a strong partner in Ukraine who would develop this title using the successful VNU formula. "Ukrainian Media Holding" group is a professional and focused consumer publisher and, as such, we are delighted to be adding this new version of Computeractive to our growing portfolio. We are convinced that with our title's clear and unambiguous editorial strategy, combined with our partner's knowledge and understanding of their local market and distribution channels, Computeractive will quickly become a publishing success in Ukraine."
Computeractive is a leading PC consumer title in Europe and is already published in the UK, Holland, Spain, Italy, Indonesia, Greece, South Africa and India. It is the best-selling computer magazine in the UK because it provides essential productivity and buying advice delivered in an entertaining, informative and plain English style.
Commenting on the Ukrainian launch, Serge Tchukhanin, Executive Director of “Ukrainian Media Holding” group, said: "UMH has a long and successful experience of launching and developing licensed projects, which allows us to state that Computeractive will achieve its aims. It is a tradition for Ukrainian Media Holding group to be a leader in every sphere of work, so we are confident in making Computeractive a leader in the PC consumer segment within the next two years."
Bedwell said: "We believe that this will be the first of many Computeractive titles published in the increasingly important Eastern European market. Ukraine is a significant and deliberate first step."
