VNU Business Media Europe acquires leading Dutch online technology site, Tweakers.net
VNU Business Media Europe, a leading European business-to-business media company, today announced that its Dutch subsidiary, VNU Business Publications, has reached an agreement to acquire Tweakers.net, the largest web site for technology news and information in the Netherlands.
Tweakers.net serves both IT professionals and home technology users. The site attracts 1 million unique visitors a month, who, together, generate more than 55 million page views a month. Tweakers.net is a community site with over 40 active forums. It offers daily news about the industry, the latest in technology products and services and new developments shaping the Internet. Tweakers.net also offers a price comparison tool named PriceWatch and a retailer ranking based on user experiences. Tweakers.net employs 16 staff and is based in Amersfoort. It will continue to operate as a stand-alone business but will be linked to the Dutch IT sites and magazines of VNU Business Publications.

Previously the company announced the acquisitions of The Inquirer.co.uk and Silicon.fr, leading technology news sites in the UK and France, respectively.
