BPL launches compact edition of UK's longest running Computer Monthly, Personal Computer World
VNU Business Publications is trialling a new format for its market leading personal technology consumer title, Personal Computer World (PCW), which will see a compact version of the next 3 issues of the monthly magazine being available through the top performing UK independents, alongside the existing versions. The compact version of PCW will be published without a covermounted DVD or CD and will cost £2.75 as opposed to £4.99 (for the DVD version).
The move is in line with VNU Business Publications' continuing focus on delivering innovation in publishing and in response to in-depth reader research which indicated that there is an audience for a different version of the title, one without the premium of a covermount. A significant trend in publishing has seen consumer and business magazines and newspapers getting smaller, more portable, fitting better with the on the move lifestyle of today's magazine buying public.
This compact version of PCW still delivers exactly the same content in terms of impartial in-depth reviews and opinions on the latest technology for its technical expert, enthusiast and enterprise readership in a format that is smaller and weighs significantly less.
